STA Policies & Terms
By registering an athlete with Sunbury Stunt and Tumble Academy (STA),
the parent/guardian acknowledges that cheerleading, tumbling, stunting,
gymnastics-based activities, conditioning, stretching and related training
are physical activities that involve inherent risks.
These risks may include, but are not limited to, falls, collisions, strains,
sprains, fractures, concussion and other injuries that may occur during training,
competitions, performances, clinics, workshops or other STA activities.
STA takes reasonable steps to provide a safe training environment, appropriate
coaching and activities suited to the athlete’s program and skill level.
However, it is not possible to eliminate all risks associated with participation
in physical activity.
Medical Information
Parents/guardians are responsible for providing STA with accurate and current
information regarding any medical condition, injury, allergy, medication or
other circumstance that may affect an athlete’s safe participation.
Parents/guardians must notify STA as soon as reasonably possible if this
information changes.
STA coaches may modify or restrict an athlete’s participation where they
reasonably believe this is necessary for the athlete’s safety or the safety
of others.
Injury and Illness
Athletes should not participate in activities where an injury, illness or
medical condition makes participation unsafe.
Where an athlete is injured or becomes unwell during an STA activity, STA may
provide appropriate first aid and may remove the athlete from some or all activities.
Where appropriate, STA may recommend that the athlete obtain medical clearance
before returning to training or particular skills.
Emergency Medical Treatment
If an athlete requires urgent medical attention and their parent/guardian or
nominated emergency contact cannot be contacted within a reasonable time,
the parent/guardian authorises STA and its coaches or representatives to take
reasonable steps to obtain medical assistance for the athlete.
This may include:
- providing first aid;
- contacting the athlete’s emergency contact;
- calling Triple Zero (000);
- requesting ambulance assistance; and
- arranging for the athlete to receive emergency medical treatment where reasonably necessary.
Any ambulance, hospital, medical or other treatment expenses incurred remain
the responsibility of the athlete’s parent/guardian, subject to any applicable
insurance or other coverage.
Athlete Personal Accident Insurance
Parents/guardians are responsible for considering and arranging appropriate
personal accident insurance for their athlete.
STA strongly recommends that athletes have appropriate personal accident
insurance because injuries arising from sport or training may result in medical,
rehabilitation, ambulance or other expenses that are not necessarily covered by STA.
One option available to cheer and dance athletes is
TEAM AASCF All Star Access through the
Australian All Star Cheerleading Federation (AASCF).
For the current 2026–27 membership period, AASCF states that TEAM AASCF All Star
Access includes annual personal accident insurance cover from
1 March 2026 to 28 February 2027.
Parents/guardians wishing to obtain this cover should:

- Complete the athlete/member registration and required payment directly with AASCF.
- Review the applicable insurance information, coverage, exclusions and conditions
to determine whether it is appropriate for the athlete.
Insurance products, benefits, eligibility, dates and terms may change.
Parents/guardians should rely on the current information provided by AASCF and
its insurer when purchasing or making a claim.

Obtaining AASCF membership or any other personal accident insurance is the
responsibility of the parent/guardian. Unless expressly advised otherwise in
writing, STA does not arrange individual personal accident insurance on behalf
of athletes.
Parent/Guardian Acknowledgement
By agreeing to this policy, the parent/guardian confirms that:
- they understand that participation in cheerleading, tumbling, stunting and
related activities involves inherent risks; - the athlete is participating with their permission;
- they have provided STA with relevant medical and emergency information and
will advise STA of significant changes; - they authorise STA to obtain reasonable emergency assistance where required;
- they understand that they are responsible for considering and arranging
appropriate personal accident insurance for the athlete; and - they accept responsibility for medical, ambulance and related expenses
incurred on behalf of the athlete, subject to any insurance or other
applicable coverage.
Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any right or
remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or
other applicable Australian law.
Sunbury Stunt and Tumble Academy (STA) may take photographs, video recordings
and other media of athletes during training, competitions, performances,
events, workshops and other STA activities.
This media may be used for legitimate STA purposes including athlete recognition,
team promotion, club communication, social media, website content, advertising,
competition-related promotion and documenting club activities.
What This Consent Covers
Where consent is provided, STA may use photographs or video footage of the athlete
in places including:
- the STA website;
- STA social media accounts;
- digital and printed advertising;
- team and club announcements;
- competition and event promotion;
- newsletters and parent communication;
- promotional videos and highlight reels; and
- other reasonable STA marketing or communication materials.
Athlete Privacy
STA will take reasonable steps to use athlete images and video appropriately
and in a manner consistent with the athlete’s age and the context in which the
content was captured.
STA will not intentionally publish an athlete’s private contact details,
medical information or other sensitive personal information as part of media
content.
Athlete names may occasionally be used alongside photographs or videos where
appropriate, such as team announcements, competition results, athlete recognition
or club achievements.
Competition and Event Media
Parents/guardians acknowledge that STA cannot control all photography or filming
undertaken at third-party venues, competitions or events.
Competition organisers, event photographers, other clubs, spectators or venue
operators may capture images or video in accordance with their own policies and
conditions.
STA’s media consent applies to STA’s own use of athlete images and video and
does not control the independent actions of third-party event organisers,
venues or spectators.
Withdrawing Media Consent
A parent/guardian may request that STA stop using an athlete’s image or video
in future STA promotional material by contacting STA.
STA will take reasonable steps to honour the request for future use.
However, content that has already been printed, distributed, published,
shared by third parties or incorporated into completed media may not always
be capable of being fully removed.
Withdrawal of media consent does not affect the athlete’s ability to participate
in STA training or programs, except where photography or filming is an unavoidable
part of a third-party competition or event.
Parent/Guardian Acknowledgement
By providing media consent, the parent/guardian confirms that:
- they have authority to provide consent for the athlete;
- they understand that STA may photograph or record the athlete during
STA activities; - they permit STA to use approved photographs and video for the purposes
described in this policy; - they understand that online content may be viewed, copied or shared by others
once published; and - they may contact STA if they wish to change their media consent for future use.
STA will use athlete media in a respectful and appropriate manner and will
take reasonable steps to protect athlete privacy.
